The transition of students from little class school to a fully organised school

The diploma thesis is focused on the transition of pupils from a small school to a fully levelled school. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on historical development of small schools and their basic characteristics, as they are very different compared to fully levelled schools. The focus here is on a fully levelled school and the transition between grades. Common and different features between a small school and a fully levelled school are outlined here. The practical part consists of the case studies of two selected pupils from the fifth grade of one small school, which were later analyzed during the transition to second grade. The practical part also includes interviews with school principals of two small schools, which are then compared from the point of view of organization. Additionally, the satisfaction and reservations of students' parents towards both types of schools are examined through a questionnaire provided to them. The aim of the thesis was to show how pupils from the fifth grade of small schools deal with the transition to a fully levelled schools and point out that even little class schools provide the same quality teaching as fully levelled schools. Otherness of Pupils from Migrant Backgrounds as a Topic for Story-Based Teaching

This thesis examines the topic of teaching the theme of otherness of pupils from migrant backgrounds to younger school-aged children, specifically through narrative engagement utilizing the Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking methods. Within the framework of action research, reading lessons were designed and executed to explore various facets of the situations faced by pupils from migrant backgrounds. This educational intervention is meant to facilitate comprehension of these pupils' circumstances and foster the overall acceptance of them. An analysis of the outcomes for each lesson is presented, also the outcomes were evaluated in terms of pedagogical reflection. Moreover, two of them were evaluated by another teacher. Topic relevant literature for children was thoroughly examined and incorporated into the research findings. The reading lessons were based on the following four titles: Kiko and the Secret of the Paper Butterfly, Maja and Kim, The Arab of the Future and Eric. The following methods were employed: unstructured observation, thematic analysis, semi-structured interviews, and content analysis of the lesson outcomes. Educational Possibilities of Abstract Painting at the Primary School

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of abstract painting in primary school. The aim of this work is to describe and evaluate in detail the process of student understanding of the principles of abstract painting in the process of an art project realized in the second grade. The theoretical part describes the current concept of art education - pedagogical constructivism, visual literacy, interpretation, reflection and reflective dialogue, creation, artwork in teaching and assessment. The theoretical part also includes the relationship between art and curriculum. The next chapter is devoted to painting and its types, then abstract painting is described - what it is, when it was created and what influenced it. One of the representatives of abstract painting, František Kupka, is also mentioned with two of his important abstract works, which the students try to interpret. The practical part contains the progress and evaluation of the author's pedagogical action research. Breaks as a potential for creating relationships in 1. grade in primary school

The thesis deals with charting building relationships between children and between children and teachers during school breaks in the first grade of elementary school. The theoretical part describes conception of elementary school, socialization in younger school age, the issue with starting school attendance and perception of school breaks in Czech and foreign literature. The practical part of the thesis was realized by observation, structured interviews with children and teachers and by survey with parents. The obtained data are used to chart activities of children and teachers during school breaks and building relationships during school breaks.
Portfolio in Art Education

The thesis is focused on the portfolio a a didactic tool in the teaching of the art education at the first stage of the primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the portfolio and its various types. It focuses on the student's work portfolio, the electronic portfolio and the professional portfolio as a tool for the development of the self-reflective and the self-assessment competencies of pupils and teachers. It is also devoted the assessment with focusing of the formative evaluation in the teaching. The last chapter is devoted the art education and the evaluation of the art education through the portfolio. Historical development of primary education in Polná in the light of archival sources.

The diploma thesis is of a historical character. It deals with the development of primary education in Polná in the years 1873-1952. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part describes the historical development of the primary school in Polná in the chosen historical period and how it was influenced by the historical development of the town Polná and the region. Included in this part are the historical specifics of the school based on the school chronicles and other archival materials. The methodology of the theoretical part is based on the historical method, the historical-comparative method, work with documents, analysis, and synthesis. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the materials that are preserved in the library and collection of the Museum Polná were used, as well as the materials preserved in the State District Archive Jihlava. The diploma thesis is also based on the expert literature which was written about the history of the town over time. The theoretical part is supported by the practical part, which is composed of interviews with contemporary witnesses, pupils who attended school in Polná in the final phase of the observed period and a teacher who taught at this school in the chosen period. Compulsory school attendance across education systems in the Kingdom of Belgium

The Diploma thesis will deal with study of education systems in the three communities in the Kingdom of Belgium - the Flemish, the Walloon and the German speaking community. It will focuse in more closely on compulsory school attendance of these education systems. The theoretical part will be devoted of comparative pedagogy, its meaning and methodology. It will explain the concepts of the education system and its comparison and compulsory education attendance. The Kingdom of Belgium and its specific structure will be briefly introduced in the next part. The practical part of this thesis will deal with three education systems in Belgium through qualitative research, namely studies. Analysis and comparison of these less known education systems, its evaluation of functionality using comparison education results in schools of Belgian communities are the aims of this thesis. It will also show advantages and disadvantages of autonomy of the individual school systems and their comparison. Development of reading skills by motivational activities - using tablets

This dissertation focuses on development of reading skills in teaching Czech language on the first grade of elementary schools with application of motivation effect of modern technologies. The thesis focuses mainly on usage of tablets as the latest technology, which currently begins to be used in classes of the elementary schools. In the theoretical part, I apply terms such as reading skill, reading literacy, motivation, and motivate activities. I present methods for teaching reading and describe individual modern technologies that are used in teaching. The goal of this dissertation is to show by what manners may be the tablets applied in the teaching. One section of the practical part is a collection of applications that can be used for development of reading skills. Furthermore, I introduce how the work looks in a class with the tablets by description of sample lessons and I compare it with the work which does not use the modern technologies.
